Texas Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Delivery Truck Driver Practice Exam

The term CNG stands for Compressed Natural Gas. This designation is used to describe natural gas that has been compressed to less than 1% of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure. Compressed Natural Gas consists primarily of methane and is often used as an alternative fuel for vehicles, particularly in public transportation and freight delivery.

CNG is a clean-burning fuel that offers environmental benefits, such as reduced emissions of harmful pollutants compared to gasoline or diesel. Understanding what CNG stands for is essential for those new to the field or for drivers operating CNG-fueled vehicles, as it highlights the focus on using cleaner energy sources in transportation.

In contrast, the other options refer to terms or concepts that are not relevant to the topic of natural gas as a fuel. Such distinctions help clarify any confusion regarding natural gas and its applications in vehicles and energy production.
